Leo R. Shellenberger II Obituary
Leo R. Shellenberger II passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side holding his hands on July 26, 2024, at the age of 72.
He is survived by his daughters Danielle Phelps Swartz (Mark) and Laura Orehowsky (Mike) and his five grandchildren Vaughn Phelps, Addison Orehowsky, Laine Phelps, Lincoln Phelps and Carter Orehowsky. He is also survived by his mother, Leona Shellenberger, and siblings, Douglas Shellenberger, Malinda Geedey, and John David Shellenberger.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo R. Shellenberger.
He was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania on Dec. 6, 1952. He was a graduate of Juniata High School, where he excelled at soccer. He continued his passion for soccer at Messiah University. Post college he was a successful salesman for National Harvestore and Prudential. Later he built his own independent insurance sales agency and passed many evenings in the homes of his beloved customers.
He enjoyed his time serving with the Beaver Springs Volunteer Fire Company and United Church of Christ. Fond memories of our dad giving back to the community included him supporting and dressing up for the annual haunted hayride in Beaver Springs as well as participating in the UCC Christmas program. Leo spent many hours on home improvement projects and on his cherished John Deere tractor.
Per Leo's wishes, there will be no services.
Arrangements are by the Kreamer Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown.
