Lee Roy Sauers, 89, of Mifflinburg, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on Jan. 18, 1936, in Mifflinburg, he was the son of the late Frederick L. Sauers and Alice I. (Grubb) Sauers. On May 22, 1965, at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, by the Rev. Fred Pick, he married the former Norma J. Boop, who survives.
He attended school with the Mifflinburg Class of 1954. He then served in the United States Army in Korea until his honorable discharge on Nov. 21, 1960.
Lee retired from Con Agra (formerly American Home Foods) in 2001 after 40 years as a kitchen technician.
Lee served in church as a greeter, usher, and board member. His hobbies included gardening, flowers and cooking.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Norma Jean, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony D. and Karen Sauers of Millmont, Chad E. Sauers and Amy Gregory of Elizabethtown; three grandchildren, Kayla Kaler, Aaron Sauers, Katelynn Sauers; two step-grandchildren, Jacob Gregory and Alison Gregory; three siblings and their spouses, Ernest Sauers of Watsontown, Vivian Brenizer of Mechanicsburg, and Thomas and Debra Sauers of Selinsgrove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Sauers.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Adamo Funeral Home, 16 Walnut Street, Mifflinburg. The funeral will be held at 2, with Pastor Michael McMillan of Millmont God's Missionary Church officiating.
Interment with full military honors accorded by veterans of the Mifflinburg American Legion and Mifflinburg Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
