Sunbury - LaRue E. (Reichner) Hoot, 97, Port Trevorton, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Mansion Nursing and Rehabilitation in Sunbury.

She was born on May 18, 1928, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth Ellen (Dreese) Reichner. In June 1951, she married the late Edgar K. Hoot, who preceded her in passing in 2000.

LaRue attended the Verdilla School. She was a homemaker and she enjoyed playing bingo, doing word puzzles and listening to a variety of music.

She is survived by her children, Dale Hoot and his wife June, Barbara Hoot, Susan Minnier, Brian Hoot and his wife Lisa, Jill Hoot, and Tonna Hoot; grandchildren, Daryl Kipple, Ashley Hoot, Kristin Hoot, and Andrea Stahlnecker and her husband James; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Connor Kipple and Warren and Amelia Stahlnecker; and siblings, Charles Reichner, Harriet Gebhardt, and Ruth Ann Gaugler.

In addition to her husband and parents, LaRue is preceded in passing by her son, Dennis Reichner; son-in-law, Barry Minnier; granddaughter, Linda Sue Swartzlander; and siblings, John Reichner, William Reichner, Ralph Reichner, and Shirley Rice.

Per her family's wishes, her services will be private.

The arrangements have been entrusted to George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA 17853.
