Dalmatia, Pennsylvania - Kenneth E. Schlegel, 98, of Dalmatia, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at the Brookdale Grayson View Assisted Living, Selinsgrove.

He was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Northumberland, the son of the late Mary and Mark Schlegel.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Dalmatia, served on the Cemetery Board and Church Consistory. Kenneth was also a 32nd Degree Mason of Herndon Lodge 702, Harrisburg Scottish Right, Tall Cedars Millersburg Forest 125, a Lower Mahanoy Township Supervisor for 50 years, member of Three Pine Acres Hunting Camp in Potter County, Fiddlers Run Sportsman's Association, Hickory Corners Fire Company, NRA, and the State Horticultural Association of PA Fruit Growers. Kenneth began farming poultry and fruit and gradually switched to full time fruit production as K Schlegel Fruit Farms. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Fern Zartman-Schlegel; daughter, Jane (Jim) Petitte of Raleigh, NC; son, Karl (Betsy) Schlegel; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Troutman.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Trinity UCC, 2082 State Route 147, Dalmatia. A Masonic service and memorial service will follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity UCC, Dalmatia.
