Kenneth L. Kauwell, 88, of 195 Columbia Hill Road, Danville, died at his home at 12:16 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, after an illness.
Born in Northumberland on Dec. 25, 1931, he was a son of the late George D. and Ethel L. (Miller) Kauwell. He resided in Danville most of his life and was a 1950 graduate of Danville High School.
Ken was employed at the former TRW plant in Danville for more than 40 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of St. Paul's "Straub's" Lutheran Church, Frosty Valley. He also belonged to the Sunbury Social Club and was a life member of the Danville VFW Post. In his earlier years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Later in life he enjoyed taking bus trips.
Ken served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, the former Grace C. Swartz, with whom he observed their 66th wedding anniversary on July 17, 2020; a son, Glen L. Kauwell, and his wife Cheryl, Sunbury; three grandsons, Jeremiah S. Kauwell, and his fiance' Erika, Sunbury, Mark B. Kauwell, Shamokin, Peter A. Kauwell, Sunbury; a great-grandson, Jackson Kauwell; a great-granddaughter, Adalyn Kauwell; a brother, William Kauwell, Danville; and two sisters, Martha Varsics, Danville and Jeanne Haas, Williamsport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Kauwell; a brother, Charles Kauwell; and a sister, Shirley Hawley.
Funeral services will be private with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
