Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania - Kenneth Osborne Fladmark, 100, of Selinsgrove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at Brookdale Grayson View, Selinsgrove.


He was born Aug. 5, 1925, in Beresford, S.D., son of Thelma and Erling Fladmark.


Ken attended grade school at Moe Country School and graduated from Canton High School. Joining the Navy at seventeen, he served for two years during World War II in the South Pacific as a Petty Officer 1st class.


Following the war, he attended and graduated from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D., where he met his future wife, Irene Larson. They were married on June 8, 1949, and celebrated 67 years of marriage together. Ken received a Master's degree in Business from the University of Pittsburgh in 1951, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Marketing in 1969 from Pennsylvania State University. He received a 50-year honor for his doctorate from Penn State in 2019. Ken and Irene moved to Rochester, N.Y., in 1951, where Ken took a faculty position at Rochester Institute of Technology, lasting ten years.


Ken joined the faculty at Susquehanna University in 1961, teaching business and marketing with deep commitment and enjoyment for 31 years. Two years later, he returned to serve as the acting dean of the Sigmund Weis School of Business and finally as a business internship coordinator for several years. He assisted with the Oxford Summer teaching program and was the DIS program director for study abroad. Ken was honored with the Lindback Award of Distinguished Teaching in 1983.


Ken loved his wife and family, enjoying their many family gatherings, celebrations, and Norwegian holiday traditions. He was an active member of Sharon Lutheran Church, served on the church council, sang in the choir, and participated in many other ways over the years. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed travelling, and loved supporting Susquehanna sports teams. He was a life-long fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.


Ken is survived by his four children and their spouses, Kristine and Richard Bogar, of Bloomsburg, Thomas Fladmark and LuAnn Rebuck, of Sunbury, Martha and John Roth of Clinton, N.J., and Amy and Gilson Waldkoenig, of Gettysburg; grandchildren Megan Leeds, Andrew Bogar, Olivia Fladmark, Lars Bogar, Kirstin Waldkoenig, Rebecca Roth, Phoebe Roth and Jonah Waldkoenig; seven great grandchildren Anna, Samuel, Siri, Sadie, Felix, Marshall and Roger.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; his parents; three brothers, Donald, Richard and Robert; and a sister, Doris.


A memorial service will be held at Sharon Lutheran Church on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating. Visitation with family will be prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. with a reception to follow the service.


Burial with military honors will be private at Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ken's memory may be made to Susquehanna University and Sharon Lutheran Church.
