Kenneth E. Heslop Obituary

Dornsife - Kenneth E. Heslop, 73, of Dornsife, passed away on Sept. 27, 2025. Born on March 19, 1952, in Shamokin, Pa., he was a son of the late Warren Heslop, Marthella (Tschopp) Lahr, and his stepfather John "Jack" Lahr.

Ken graduated from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor's degree in English. Ken first worked for the postal service before then attending the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned his nursing degree. He went on to serve proudly in the U.S. Air Force as a nurse for several years. Following his honorable discharge, he dedicated much of his career to caring for others, working in a number of clinics that served various Native American tribes. Outside of his professional life, Ken had many passions. He enjoyed playing the guitar — spending time performing with a band — and also found joy in archery and hunting.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Carol Swinehart, and her husband, Barry, of Va.; his niece Trina King and her husband Larry King Jr.; his great niece, Alexandra King and great nephew, Jason King. He was predeceased by his nephew, Barry Swinehart Jr., and was previously married to ex-wife Lisa Heslop.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Foust Funeral Home LLC, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, Pa., with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
