LEWISBURG - Kathryn "Kay" (Stannard) Claus, 91, of Lewisburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg. She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Ocean City, N.J., a daughter of the late Minot and Anna (Jacobs) Stannard. On Oct. 6, 1945, she married Roger Claus who preceded her in death March 26, 1977. Together they celebrated 31 years of marriage. Kay was a graduate of high school in Ocean City and a graduate of Philadelphia College of Art. She worked for many years as an art teacher for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Kay was of the Protestant faith. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star (OES), Red Hats Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), John Alden Society and the Soroptimist International Woman's Organization. Kay enjoyed working on crafts. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Wendy Claus, of Glen Mills, and Roger and Susan Claus, of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kristin Claus, Tyler Claus, Heather (Claus) Gumpert, Andrew Claus and Brett Claus; and one niece, Katie Gleeson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Smith. Friends will be received from 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 106 S. Second St., Lewisburg,followed by the funeral at 5 with the Rev. John E. Lee, retired United Methodist pastor, officiating Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Lewisburg Cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Kay's memory be made to the RiverWoods Employee Holiday Fund, 270 Ridgecrest Circle, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
