June C. Rozoski Obituary
June C. Rozoski, 86, of Sunbury, passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 13, 2024, at Sunbury Nursing & Rehab.
This is a remembrance of the life of a strong, courageous woman whom was full of life and love for all.
On Feb. 13, 2024, the angels arrived to guide her towards her next journey. The love of her life, Alphonse A. Rozoski called her home to be his Valentine forever and always. The two first met in February of 1953 and were married on May 25, 1957, at St. Edwards Catholic Church. They were only separated on this earth by his passing on Feb. 15, 2018.
June could always be seen with a smile on her face and her heart of gold shone bright to all. She was a woman that never let anything hold her down and strived through many difficult health situations like a true champion. Her zest for life was unmatched and her vibrancy was infectious. June was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Affectionately known as "MamMam" to a great many, she touched the hearts of all those she encountered. She'd greet you with a smile and huge hug and depart with a blowing of a kiss.
June was born on June 9, 1937, in Shamokin, to Anna (Horne) and Albert Koklinski and resided in Sunbury for most of her adult life. She was actively involved in many organizations including the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association, Welcome Wagon, Relay for Life, Shikellamy Band Parents Association and PTA in the1980s and in the 1970s she was a brand ambassador for Terry Towel. Holding the title of "Miss Terry Towel, you could find her in supermarkets across Pennsylvania representing the brand with a vivacious smile.
She was well known for her excellent cooking, baking and candy making skills. Her joy was spending time in the kitchen making everything from scratch. Her recipes were highly sought after and she was featured in many cookbooks locally and nationally.
In her younger days she was a whiz on roller skates and back in the day her favorite place was the wooden rink floor at Knoebel's. She enjoyed the mountains and could be found taking road trips, hiking, biking and rafting with her husband every weekend. Wellsboro and the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, Hills Grove, High Knob, Blackwell, Morris and Little Piney, along with Atlantic City to name a few, were some of her most favorite spots on earth. She loved the outdoors and the ocean, including boating on the Susquehanna River. She loved music and concerts and kept current with the music trends as she was extremely young at heart.
June is survived by one daughter, Lisa A. James and one grandson, Devon J. James, both of Sunbury, and her adopted fur pup "Bootie Cakes" whom she affectionately named.
June was also preceded in death by her beloved little dog, "Mr. Peters, aka Pee Wee."
We love you Mom — MamMam. It is not goodbye, for you are always with us and we will see you in everything beautiful.
A celebration of June's life will be held in the summer of 2024 and announced for all those she loved and held dear.
Donations in June's honor may be made to "Mommy and Me Rescue/Fidos Program" or any of the organizations of which she was actively involved.
