June Lucille Livziey
June Lucille (Raup) Livziey, 91, of Danville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019. At the time of her joyous welcome home, she was surrounded by family, the thing she cherished most.
She was born March 25, 1928, in Danville, a daughter of the late Wilbur "Web" and Hilda (Heimmiller) Raup, growing up with six siblings.

June attended Danville High School, graduating in the Class of 1947. While attending school, she participated in cheerleading, but her proudest scholastic memory was winning the Home Economics award her senior year. Danville High School was where she also met the love of her life, George "Gus" K. Livziey.

Marrying on Dec. 13, 1947, June and Gus continued their story, raising their three children at what would become their long-term home on Grand Street in Danville's Second Ward.

During her lifetime, June worked at Cain's Pharmacy of Danville, followed by Roslyn Yarns in Danville, and then finally working at Marcraft in Bloomsburg until her retirement. June's love for sewing didn't end at that time, as she continued to sew, hem, and mend for many people in the area.

She was very faithful and active in both her church and community. She was a humble woman who treasured her faith, family, friends, and neighbors. She was one of the oldest living members of Pine Street Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for more than 40 years.
June was also a Scout Leader for both the Boy and Girl Scouts in Danville. She was a lifelong member of the Women of the Moose Danville, an Elkette with the Danville Elks, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of the Danville Masonic Lodge.

June was an avid Penn State football fan and loved to travel with family and friends. She really enjoyed taking monthly trips to Mohegan Sun Casino and loved her "Lucky 7's."

June was blessed with many great friends in her life, and she and Gus shared a special bond with Louise Pegg and her late husband Jack. They spent many summers together in their younger years at the Livziey Family Cabin in Weikert, and shared many Saturday evenings playing Pinochle at each other's homes.

Welcoming her home at the time of her death are her husband of 56 years, Gus, and a son, Kenneth Livziey. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Eleanor Wray, Joann Reibsome, Margaret "Peg" Raup; and two brothers, Jack and Donald Raup.

June is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Kathleen Livziey, and one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and J. Timothy Lutz, all of Danville; grandchildren, Kenneth Livziey Jr. and wife Torie, Kristine Thomas and husband Walter, Russell Livziey and wife Angel, Carrie Ann Livziey, Lauren Lindsay and husband David, Jennifer Klein and husband Matthew, Megan Stoker and husband John, Marcy Lutz; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Max VonBlohn and one sister-in-law, Ruth Raup, all of Danville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Pine Street Lutheran Church, 407 Pine St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Melody Sell officiating and the Rev. Gretchen Johanson, co-officiating.

Burial will follow in Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brady Funeral Home Inc., Danville.
