Northumberland, Pennsylvania - Joyce B. Rebuck, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025.

She was born on March 24, 1931, in Sunbury, to Alice (Reedy) Bohner and Lee Bohner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lee, and her husband, John (Jack) Rebuck to whom she was married for 62 years.

She is survived by her sister, Beverly Jean Newman; her five children, Robert (Lucy Eisele) Rebuck, Susan (Robert) Otway, LuAnn (Tom Fladmark) Rebuck, Betsy (Mark) Mingels, and Jonathan Rebuck; three granddaughters, Olivia (Dan Zartman) Fladmark, Nicolette (Chad) Putka and Jocelyn Mingels; and two great-grandsons, Felix and Roger Zartman.

She was a graduate of Sunbury High School Class of 1949, where she played in the marching band and performed in theater productions. She was class treasurer and helped plan class reunions for many years. She studied drama at Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia, before returning to Sunbury to marry her high school sweetheart and raise 5 children.

Throughout her life, Joyce worked in a variety of roles — including at the Selinsgrove State School and the Sunbury Silk Mill. She sold Fuller Brush products, worked at Rebuck's Meats, and for many years made and sold her popular Mother's Cheese Spread at the Sunbury Market House. But her greatest and most cherished calling was as a mother. She poured her love and creativity into her family and was the kind of mother every child could hope for.

She was an accomplished seamstress who made clothes for her children, including a wedding dress and business suits when they were grown. Only arthritis ended her sewing career.

Still she found time to volunteer for the PTA, be den mother for the Cub Scouts, be president of the Junior Women's Club and deliver Meals on Wheels with her friend, Rae Mitterling. In her spare time she enjoyed golf, shopping, playing cards and reading.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Emmanuel Personal Care Home for the great care Joyce received there.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel at Zion Lutheran Church on Dec. 13, 2025, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:30.
