Sunbury, PA - Joseph E. Metz, of Sunbury, 77, died recently at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Metz and Eleanor Metz, his beloved wife, Cheryl Snyder, his brother, Charles, and several much-loved pets. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Keast of Laguna Beach, California, Sister Mary Francis Metz of Annecy, France, several cousins, many friends, and his beloved dogs, Jenny and Jackie.

Joe attended Harrisburg Area Community College and Temple University, and enjoyed a career as a manager for Hilton Hotels. He took the greatest joy in his life with Cheryl, in their love for animals, in traveling, in following the events of the world around him, and in telling stories of the highlights of his life. Cheryl and he were devoted parishioners of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, Sunbury, and he will be laid to rest alongside her in the church's Resurrection Garden on Tuesday, July 15, with a Mass of Christian Burial offered at 5:00 pm, the Reverend Dina Carter Ishler, celebrant.
