Joseph J. Dozpat III Obituary
Danville - Joseph J. Dozpat III, 77, of Danville, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born June 12, 1947, in Bethlehem, Pa., the son of the late Joseph J., Jr. and Margaret M. Geld Dozpat.
Joe graduated from Liberty High School in 1965, and Lincoln Technical Institute in 1967.
He was drafted and proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army in 1967 at Fort Gordon, Georgia, where he studied switchboard repair technology and fixing transmitters and military mobile communications. During the Vietnam Era, Joe served with the White House Communications Agency serving President Lyndon B. Johnson and President Richard M. Nixon.
He is survived by the love of his life for 56 years, Cynthia J. Gorman Dozpat. They were married on Aug. 17, 1968.
Joe was a member of an active home church fellowship, serving as an elder.
He was a member of The National Association for Amateur Radio.
Joe was employed as a Customer Service Engineer in the Medical Products Group at Hewlett Packard in Valley Forge, Pa., from 1980-1986 where he designed and installed hospital critical and coronary care instrumentation and monitoring systems and subsystems. In 1986, he became the Founder/Developer and original CEO of Spectrum Technologies, Inc. for 13 years, from where he retired in 1999. Joe also served with the Danville Ambulance Service, Inc. from 1992-2005 serving as past president and treasurer, supply officer, and EMT/BTLS Farm Rescue technician. From 1998-2004, he served as the Rush Township Municipal Zoning officer and PA State Constable. From 2005 - 2011, he was employed as a Studio Broadcast Engineer for Montrose Broadcasting, Inc., where he provided in-house engineering services for the local Christian Radio Station, WPGM.
Joe enjoyed amateur radio, classic cars, and long-range rifle target shooting.
Being a dedicated husband, a loving father, and an adoring grandfather gave him the greatest enjoyment in his life. A man of strong faith, he will also be remembered for his integrity, hard work ethic, and soft heart.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Kevin J Dozpat, and his wife, Joie, of New Columbia, Pa., and one daughter, Kristin L Wagner, and her husband, Scott, of North Carolina. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Joseph Dozpat of South Carolina, Victoria Langdon of Texas, and Joshua Wagner of Virginia. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Jamison, Elowyn, Rowan, Freya, Elsie and Quinn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Joe's Life to be held
on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street, Danville, Pa., with his fellow elder, DuWayne Haas, officiating with
Roy Clippinger and David Ziegert assisting. Burial will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Friends will be received on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
