John J. Todd Sr., 76, of Elysburg, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 2, 2024, at Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Sevilla (Deysher) and Alexander Todd.

John was of the Catholic faith and was a member of Queen of Most Holy Rosary in Elysburg.

He was the husband of Donna E. (Handerhan) Todd.

John graduated from Nativity BVM High School in 1965. He also graduated from Susquehanna University in 1998 with a degree in business administration.

John worked for PPL for over 44 years. He started out as a lineman and retired as a foreman. John worked at the Marian Heights then Sunbury service centers. He also was an instructor for PPL at Northampton Community College before retiring in 2018. John was instrumental in developing the lineman program.

He was a member of the Elks in Mount Carmel. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Thomas; sister, Rosemary; and son-in-law, Ron Kemberling.

John is survived by his wife, Donna E. Todd, Elysburg; son, John J. Todd Jr. (Marisa), Springfield; daughter, Kimberly Kemberling, Sunbury; four grandchildren, Zachary Kemberling, Chandler (Korbin) Ross, Chase Todd, and Kaitlyn Todd; one great-grandson, Jameson Ross, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9 at Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church, 599 W. Center St., Elysburg, PA 17824, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow Mass in All Saints Cemetery in Elysburg.
