John S. Hulsizer, 85, a resident of Muncy, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at The Gatehouse in Williamsport.

He was born Monday, Dec. 5, 1932, in Northumberland, a son of the late Max A. and Evelean (Clayberger) Hulsizer. John was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Marie Molter on April 16, 2006. They are now dancing together in heaven.

John was a 1950 graduate of Northumberland High School. John honorably served his country with the Army in the 101st Air Borne Division during the Korean War.

He retired in 1993 from Andritz, Muncy where he was employed for more than 30 years as a foundry technician.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 268, Muncy, the Edward J. Smith V.F.W. Post 3428, Muncy, L.O.O.M. Lodge 1133, Danville, and the Andritz Quarter Century Club.

John enjoyed traveling and woodworking.

He is survived by four children, John Hulsizer and wife Susan of Etters, Lee Hulsizer and fiancee Abbie Stevens of Sugar Run, Sandra Wells and husband Merle of Hammond, N.Y., and Joan Whitmoyer and husband Daniel of Muncy; six grandchildren, Shannon Hulsizer, Deana Plakiotis and husband Steve, Bethany Hulsizer, Merle Wells III, Danna Birch and husband Jack, Keith Whitmoyer and wife Olga; and his very special friend, Betty Coffey.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, followed by a memorial service at noon with Pastor Gregory L. Molter of St. Paul's Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Danville, officiating.

Interment will be in the Gettysburg National Cemetery.
