John W. Hommel Obituary
Dalmatia, Pennsylvania - John W. Hommel, 76, of Dalmatia, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Herndon, a son of the late Esther and Albert Hommel. John was a jack of all trades, and most recently he delivered parts for NAPA.
He attended the Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, Gratz, and was a lifetime member of the Herndon Fire Company. John loved hunting, woodworking and was a big Penn State fan. He played guitar and sang with his family band, and was a very proud grandfather.
John is survived by his wife, Lois Hommel; two daughters, Christina (Billy) Johns, Carla (Steve) Krissinger; sister, Martha Winter; granddaughter, Maddy Krissinger; step-brothers, Grant Maneval, Leonard Maneval, Larry (Orpha) Maneval, Elwood (Pat) Maneval; and step-sister, Edna (Rodger) Chubb.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis Hommel and Wayne Hommel; step-brother, Lester Maneval; step-sister, Linda Maneval; step-father, Howard Maneval.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Sunbury, where interment will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in John's memory to an organization or charity of your choosing.
