Lewisburg, PA - John W. Courter, 84, of Lewisburg, died Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Oak Glen Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Lewisburg.

Born July 24, 1941, in Mazeppa, he was a son of the late Ralph and Myrtle (Keeler) Courter. On April 22, 1962, he married the former Linda Musser, who survives. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.

John was a 1960 graduate of Lewisburg High School. He worked for Weis Markets for 48 years, where he spent the majority of his time as a meat cutter.

He was a member of St. John's Church of Dry Valley.

In his spare time, John enjoyed hunting and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters and sons in law, Brenda and Steven Sauers, of Middleburg and Annette and Neal Sauers, of Mifflinburg; four grandchildren, Katie Sauers, Heidi Scholl and Brad and Benjamin Sauers; and four great-grandchildren, Annie and Harrison Sauers and Alexa and Beckett Scholl.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Nancy Hendricks and Janet Botts and his twin brother, Jim Courter.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, where a Funeral service will be held at 11 with his minister, Pastor Ricky Phillips, officiating.

Burial will follow in Guyer Cemetery (Dry Valley), Winfield.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to St. John's Church of Dry Valley, 3667 Rt. 304, Winfield, PA 17889.
