Jerome Abraczinskas Obituary
Jerome “Jerry” Abraczinskas Sr. passed away at the age of 77 at Heart Health Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., with his devoted family by his side. He was born March 1, 1938, at home, in Roaring Creek Township, a son of the late Anna Domanski and Anthony (Duke) Abraczinskas. Jerry graduated from Penn State. He was a member of the American Nursery Association and an officer of Abraczinskas Nurseries. He was on the Millville School Board for many years. Together with his wife, he operated a store/fruit stand and won blue ribbons for displays at the Bloomsburg Fair. Since becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1977, he had enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing its teachings with families, devoting most of his time to that cause after his retirement. Ever the sportsman, he enjoyed baseball, basketball, soccer and bowling in his younger days. More recently, his passions were golf, travelling and card playing. Jerry played to win. Many would agree with sister-in-law Pat, who said, “I like playing cards with Jerome because it feels so good when we finally beat him!” Known for his love for God and family, his hospitality, generosity and sense of humor, he will be greatly missed by many. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Marian “Bunny”; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Andrew and Mary, Jerome Jr. “Jay” and Gwen, William, and Michael and Charlene; five grandchildren, B.J., Megan, Lauren, Caleb and Sierra; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Pat; two sisters-in-law, Sally and Jeanette; two aunts, Dorothy Alex and Francis Kessler; three brothers-in-law, James and Roberta Kistler, Richard Kistler, and Robert and Margaret Kistler; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Jean Marie; and two brothers, Anthony “Duke” Jr. and Donald. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13, at the Milton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2995 Housels Run Road, Milton, with a meal to follow.
