Jean Peters Obituary

Jean Louise (Moyer) Peters, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Jean was born May 13, 1932, in Northumberland.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Montie E. and Helen Peters of Northumberland, Terry M. and Sue Peters, of Sunbury, Bart E. and Jayna Peters, of Northumberland, and Jerry and Julie (Peters) Bubb, of Sunbury. Jean also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jean was a lifetime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Northumberland. Upon her passing she is rejoined with her parents, Elmer and Olive (Rowe) Moyer and her two sisters and eight brothers.

After high school, Jean worked at Andrews Hardware, Northumberland, and later helped establish and run Peters Appliances in Northumberland. When her children took over the family business there was not a day she couldn't be seen working at Peters Home Appliance Center in Sunbury. If the doors were open "Mom" was there.

Jean loved to crochet and could often be seen working on her next afghan. Jean had a feisty personality and was very protective of her family whom she loved deeply. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she always helped decorate the store. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland.
