JJanet Bartges Wible, 88, of Milton, returned to the Lord on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born June 9, 1936, in Loganton, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul G. and Sara Mae Schrack Bartges. On Aug. 28, 1966, she married G. Richard "Dick" Wible, of Mount Union, and they spent 52 wonderful years together.
Janet was a graduate of Sugar Valley High School, Class of 1954, and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1957. She was employed at Williamsport Hospital for more than 40 years and later retired from Divine Providence Hospital. She loved car rides, people watching, stained glass art, and most importantly, spending time with friends, her beloved family and rambunctious schnoodle, Missy.
She was a proud member of the Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church choir and a member of a Faxon Lanes bowling league for many years.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter at birth, a sister, Connie L. Stover, and two brothers, Dr. Dean S. Bartges and Dr. Elwood E. Bartges.
She is survived by a son, Richard Wible, of Milton; a sister, Donna L. (John) Thompson, of Mill Hall; a granddaughter, Reagan Wible; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.
The family asks that guests wear bright colors, with a preference to green, Janet's favorite color, to the services since Janet was such a bright light in our lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
