Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania - James C. Forster, 83, Selinsgrove

James C. Forster (Jim) 83, of Selinsgrove passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born January 6, 1942, in Selinsgrove, a son of the late Richard L. and Bertha (Burkey) Forster. Jim was raised by George and Helen (Forster) Schnee from the age of 3 years old. On March 17, 1967, he married the former Linda Jane Wertz who survives.

Jim graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1959 and went on to attend Penn State University.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army Security Agency from 1961-1964.

Jim was employed by PP&L for 37 years until his retirement.

He was a Charter Member of the Mid Penn Sportsman Association and enjoyed trap shooting for many years. Jim was a member of Lafayette Lodge No.194 F.&A.M. since 1970 and was the secretary since 1980. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Zembo Shrine, both of Harrisburg. Jim enjoyed golf from his time as a caddy at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club through later years playing often at Shade Mountain Golf Course.

In addition to his wife, Linda, of 58 years, he is survived by two sons, Mark (Cynthia) Forster and Luke Forster; several grand and great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Forster.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 20 from 5-5:45pm at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove. A Masonic service will be held at 5:45 followed by a memorial service at 6 pm with Dr. James Cope officiating. Military honors accorded by American Legion Post 25 and V.F.W Post 6631 of Selinsgrove will be held following the memorial service.
