Lewisburg, Pennsylvania - James L. Farley, 80, of rural Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport, in the loving arms of his wife.


Born in West Milton on Aug. 1, 1945, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Leotta F. (Jamison) Farley. He was married to the former Janette Beck, who survives.


James was a 1964 graduate of Milton High School and retired from West Pharmaceutical after 43 years.


He was a former volunteer with White Deer Twp. Fire Co. and coached with West Milton-Newky baseball. He enjoyed hunting, especially deer hunting in Potter County, fishing, woodworking, and harvesting firewood. He loved John Deere and vintage Farmall tractors, going to Penn State football and basketball games, the Bloomsburg Fair, and Ocean City, Md. He loved to cook, his specialty being homemade sticky buns and soups.


In addition to his wife Janette, he is survived by a son James Farley (Amy), of West Milton; a daughter Jamie Farley, of Lewisburg; a stepson Joshua Pentz (Lorie) of Killen, Ala.; a stepdaughter Nichole Ford (Jediael) of Macungie; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a half-brother Robert Farley; a half-sister Dorothy Neff; special friends that have helped greatly the last few years Randy and Patti Persun and Duke Cook; and his faithful dogs Dude and Coach, who never left his side.


He was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Pentz; a half-brother Jack Farley; and two half-sisters, Donna Trutt and Donna Mae Scarborough.


Friends and relatives will be received on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. To honor Jim, please wear your favorite Penn State apparel or blue and white. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Highland Cemetery.
