Northumberland, Pa - James E. Derr, 83, of Northumberland, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026.
Born July 27, 1942 to the late James S. Derr and Marqueriete Derr (Murray).
He was a 1961 graduate of Northumberland H.S. After graduation he joined the Army Reserves. He was employed by Trailco before becoming a welder for Ceco (NCJ) until his retirement.
Jim became well known for attending auctions and collecting items to sell at Gratz Crossroads Market, where he and his wife had a stand for over 35 years.
Jim married Patricia Ann Derr (Mahlon) in 1961 until her death in 2024.
He is survived by one daughter, Sheila Stine (Northumberland). Two grandchildren, Jessica Stine (Northumberland), Jacob Stine and wife Madison (Shamokin) and one great grandson, Clayton James Stine.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Stevenson, two sisters, Leohdah Benner, Patricia Hummel, and one son in law, Willard Stine.
Services are private, arrangements by Epler Funeral Home.
