Liverpool, Pennsylvania - James L. Bowersox, 71, of Liverpool, went to be with his lord and savior on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home.
He was born Oct. 10. 1953, in Liverpool, son of the late Paul L. and Dorothy P. (Miller) Bowersox.
James was a 1971 graduate of Greenwood High School.
On Oct. 10, 1998, he married the former Robin L. Harpster.
He had been employed at numerous family businesses and also operated a wrecker service. Later, he had been employed at FedEx and in the construction industry. He retired in 2012.
Jim was a longstanding member of Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mount Pleasant Mills. As an active member, he had served as worship leader and as a trustee.
He enjoyed playing baseball and softball and doing woodworking.
His greatest joy came from his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.
Jim will be remembered for his love of people.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Shane (Carissa) Bowersox, of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Christian (Jenna) Goodrich and Mason and Connor Bowersox; great-grandchildren Lindyn and Stella; two brothers Ronald (Beatrice) Bowersox and Jonathan Scott (Tammy) Bowersox all of Liverpool and a sister-in-law Angel Bowersox
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Ann Goodrich, in 2010 and two brothers, Donald and Timothy Bowersox.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 5230 Route 104, Mount Pleasant Mills, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. with Rev. Marty Adams and Rev. Jimmy Neimond officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Contributions to honor Jim's memory may be made to Church of Christ in Christian Union.
