Irene S. Kerstetter
Irene S. Kerstetter, 87, of Milton, passed away on Jan. 10, 2020, at the Milton Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Milton, a daughter of the late Clarence and Tressie (Reibsome) Trate. On Oct. 30, 1957, she married Miles T. Kerstetter Jr. who preceded her in death on May 15, 1989.

Irene was a 1950 graduate of Milton High School.
Along with her husband she owned the Captain's Table in Lewisburg and was later a medical transcriptionist at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was a member of the Salvation Army in Milton and earlier in her life she was a Salvation Army officer.
Irene was a very giving person and cared deeply about the welfare of the people around her.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark T. and Victoria Kerstetter of Florida; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wendy J. and Edward Erb of Milton, Laura H. andRichard Hamilton of Shunk, and Molly F. Hunt of Shunk; one brother, Leroy Trate of Mifflinburg; two sisters, Arlene Schooley of Millville, and Bessie Trate of Elizabethtown; five grandsons, Daniel, Andrew, David, Tommy, and Luke; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Salvation Army, 30 Center St., Milton.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, Milton.

The family is being assisted by the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton.

Irene was a wonderful, kind, and respectful person. I worked with Irene when she was a transcriptionist at Geisinger. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Please accept my condolences.
