Herbert G. Beck Obituary

Herbert G. Beck, 91, of Front Street, Sunbury, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.


Herbert was born Nov. 16, 1933, in Sunbury, a son of the late Herbert J. and Irene (Hogendoebler) Beck. He married Patricia (Stahl) Beck.


He was a graduate of Sunbury High School and then joined the Navy and proudly served from 1952-1956.


Herbert was a professional truck driver and drove for several trucking companies through the years.


He was a member of the Sunbury Masonic Lodge No. 713 and F. & A.M. Lodge No. 022, Teamsters, American Legion, and the Americus Hose Co.


Herbert enjoyed working on cars and loved Rottweilers.


In addition to his wife of 33 years he is survived by his daughters, Debra Moyer (David), Sandra Gadberry (Billy); sons, Kevin Beck (Carla), Bill Beck (Crystal), Greg Beck, David Dreese, nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Melissa; brother, Bill Beck; and sister, Doris Helveston.


Services are private.


Interment will be in Orchard Hills, Shamokin Dam.


Arrangements are by the Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.
