Helen E. Headdings Obituary

Helen E. Headdings, 82, of Herndon, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at the Sunbury Community Hosptial, Sunbury.


She was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Hegins Township, a daughter of the late Matie (Herner) and William Miller. She was married to Clarence N. Headdings who passed away in 2003.


Helen was a graduate of Hegins Township High School and was employed at the former Johnson Bailey Shoe factory.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban.

Helen will be remembered for her love of her church, family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.


Helen is survived by one son, Kim Headdings and his companion, Deb Johnsonbaugh, of Millersburg; two sisters, Dora Shade and Janet Miller; one brother, Charles "Peewee" Miller; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Irvin Miller, William Miller Jr. and Robert Miller; and one sister, Bernice M. Deibert.


A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's UCC, Urban, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Daniel Shahan officiating.

Interment will be private in St. Paul's UCC Cemetery.


The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown has charge of the arrangements.
