Hazel E. Tharp Obituary

Hazel E. Tharp, 94, of 901 Court St., Sunbury, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at the Sunbury Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sunbury.


Hazel was born Sept. 16, 1929, in Shamokin, to the late Henry A. and Myrtle (Zerby) Schlagel. She graduated from Shamokin High School and went on to get her certification in high rise management.


She was a member of the Episcopal Church, Shamokin. Hazel had a love for art, especially painting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.


Hazel is survived by a son, Robin Tharp and his wife Peggy, from Florida.


She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Tharp.


Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.


Arrangements are being cared for by Gotlob-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Service, 539 Race St., Sunbury, James R. Gotlob, Supervisor.
