Lewisburg, Pennsylvania - Harold O. Walter, 95, of Lewisburg, passed away on Aug. 31, 2026, at Evertrue Buffalo Valley.

He was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Lewisburg, a son of the late John Chester and Edna (Keefer) Walter.

On March 17, 1954, he married Valores Bennage, who preceded him in death on July 19, 2020.

Harold was a 1949 graduate of Milton High School.

He was a farmer until 1988 although he continued to be a farmer at heart the rest of his life. He enjoyed talking farming with anyone who wanted to talk farming. He was also employed as a carpenter for a time. He was a rural letter carrier and retired from Lewisburg Post Office in 1992 after 31 years of service. After retiring from the Post Office, he worked for Kelly Township for approximately ten years.

He was a member of the former West Milton United Methodist Church. Harold was a Yankee fan and more recently also watched the UConn women's basketball team. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, doing word search puzzles and, most of all, enjoyed spedning time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Walter and Ruth (Jeffrey) Myers; two grandchildren, Tiffany Forman and Jeffrey (Kristen) Myers Jr.; and five great-grandchildren, McKenna, Aiden, Brantley, Jeffrey and Camryn.

In addition to his parents and wife, Harold was preceded in death by his brother Dallas Walter and his sister Evelyn Bolig.

Per Harold's wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Lewisburg Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Evertrue Buffalo Valley and Wellspan Hospice for the care they provided to Harold.
