MIFFLINBURG — Grey Michael Allen Shingara, 48, of 100 East Green Street, entered into rest surrounded by family and his loyal companion, Remi, at 7:52 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at his residence. He was born on March 2, 1967, in Sunbury, a son of the late Kenneth P. and Patricia A. (Dirocco) Shingara. On June 10, 2006, at Keithan Gardens, Sunbury he married the former Danielle Nancy Raker, who survives. Grey graduated from Shikellamy High School class of 1986 and SUN Vo-Tech welding program. Prior to Grey becoming disabled, he worked for the Ritz-Craft Corp, Mifflinburg. Previously he worked at his family’s restaurant, The Corner, located in Sunbury. Grey was a lifetime member of the Americus Hose Company, Sunbury, and a member of the Auxiliary of the Mifflinburg Hose Company. Grey was very involved in helping with fire prevention activities for the Americus Hose Company. He was also involved in helping the Mifflinburg Community Ambulance in any way he was able. Grey loved helping with any activities the Mifflinburg Hose Company auxiliary was doing. He enjoyed cooking, helping people, and spending time with his family. Surviving in addition to his wife is one son, Patrick Grey, at home; one half-sister, Susan Britton, of Sunbury; five stepsisters, Linda Beck, of Selinsgrove, Debra Harris, of Norfolk, Va., Patricia Brosius, of Frederick, MD, Karen Kramer of Selinsgrove, and Diana Williams, of Sunbury. He is also survived by numerous nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Helen N. (Isenberg) Shingara. Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Dominick T. Adamo Funeral Home, 247 Chestnut Street, Mifflinburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, 46 Brethren Church Road, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with Pastor Eric Reamer, officiating.
