Gerard William "Jerry" Gill Sr., 59, of Klingerstown, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at his home.

He was born April 28, 1958, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a son of the late Patricia (Melleby) and Richard Gill. On Nov. 7, 1981, he married the former Linda Anderson who survives.

Gerard was a 1976 graduate of Line Mountain High School.

He was a truck driver for 41-plus years, logging several million miles across the continental United States, Canada and Mexico. For the last 25-plus years he drove for Weiner Iron & Metal, Pottsville.

Gerard liked collecting brass and copper figurines. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, enjoyed assembling models and painting each piece, shooting, sharing experiences, playing piano and the organ and taking others with him while driving.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerard W. Jr. and Cassie Gill, of Herndon, and Joseph A. and Ashley Gill, of Leck Kill; two brothers, Steve Gill, of Connecticut, and Richard Gill and his wife Marianne, of Vermont; two sisters, Lorrie Bahrenburg and her husband Kenny, of South Carolina and Sandra Hewitt, of Arizona; and one grandson, Gerard Gill III.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, followed by a memorial service at noon with Pastor Todd Wolfe officiating.
