George C. Clark, 92, of 1000 E. Market St., Danville, died Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 2018, at 4:26 a.m. at Mountain View Manor Nursing Home, Coal Township, where he as a resident for 28 months.
He was born Jan. 9, 1926, in Shamokin, a son of the late Peter J. and Mina (Morningwake) Clark.
George was a graduate of Shamokin High School in 1943 and Lycoming College in 1950. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He was employed first as a financial officer for Cluett, Peabody & Co. - Arrow Shirt division, and later as a loan officer for Finance America in Sunbury.
George was a life member of the Liberty Fire Company and Fairview Gun Club.
He is survived by one son, Geoffrey C. Clark of Danville with whom he resided for many years; two granddaughters, Hanna Clark of Danville and Elisha Clark Zimmerman of Northumberland; three great-grandchildren, Carson, Cash, and Gabby Zimmerman; and one sister, Harriett Clark of Laureldale.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Kopitsky and Jacqueline Clark.
Funeral arrangements will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Summit Cemetery.
