Gary P. Berger, 74, of Selinsgrove, passed from this life and went to be with the Lord on Monday April 7, 2025, in the emergency room at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg.
Having been born in Millmont, PA on Aug. 13, 1950, he was the son of Peron B. and Margaret E. (Walter) Berger.
He was blessed to be married to his current wife of nearly twenty-four years, Anne L. Berger. His first wife, Donna L. Berger, predeceased Gary in 1995.
He was a graduate of Middleburg High School with the class of 1968. He became employed with Wood-Mode Industries of Kreamer and retired March 2015 after 47 years of service. He served our country by enlisting in the Army National Guard in 1969 and served for six years.
Gary faithfully attended and was an active member of Beavertown God's Missionary Church. He was a life member of the Snyder County Historical Society.
In his spare time, he had many woodworking projects that he meticulously enjoyed making. He was an avid hunter with his brother, fishing with his brother-in-law Jerry, and he and his wife enjoyed attending sales. Public service was important to him having helped to serve meals at the Beavertown Fire Company and helping with funeral meals at the Church of the Nazarene in Selinsgrove.
In addition to his wife Anne, he is survived by his step-daughter Terri (Glynn) Galloway, and their two sons, Quinn and Devin, who he adored and considered them his grandchildren. To the "boys" he was known as "PepPep."
Also surviving are his siblings, Elaine (Larry) Bowersox, of Lancaster, Karen (Ronald) Kratzer, of Middleburg, Timothy (Teresa) Berger, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Cheryl (Terry) Shaffer, of Mount Pleasant Mills; a brother-in-law Jerry (Ellie) Hollenbach; and sister-in-law Betty (Don) Beaver. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Beavertown God's Missionary Church, 1653 Creek Road, Middleburg, PA 17842. The viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral following at 11 a.m. with Pastors James Plank, Solomon Shaffer, Nick Rine and Cameron Going.
He will be laid to rest in the Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.
