Garrett B. Smith, 40, of Trout Run, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at UMPC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center following complications he suffered after falling off a roof while at work.
He was born March 24, 1978, in Williamsport, a son of Norma (Moon) Smith of Trout Run and the late Dannie Smith.
Garrett was a graduate of Montoursville High School.
He had worked at Susquehanna Supply Company and then started, and owned and operated Garrett B. Smith Excavating and General Contracting.
He was a member of the Marine Corp League.
Garrett enjoyed working, farming, and animal husbandry. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and truly loved his family and friends. He lived life to the fullest.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of only four short years, Dr. Constance L. Wilson-Smith; his three year old son, Garrett B. Smith Jr. at home; mother-in-law, C. Lynn Wilson; and brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dannie; and his father-in-law, Dr. Hugh Wilson.
A celebration of life will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
