G. Richard Wible Obituary

G. Richard Wible, 80, of Lewisburg, returned to the Lord on Thursday, April 4, 2019. He passed away peacefully at home.

Dick was born April 16, 1938 in Mount Union, a son of the late Eugene and Lucille Wible. On Aug. 28, 1966, he and Janet Bartges from Sugar Valley, were joined in holy matrimony and the couple celebrated 52 years of marriage together.


Dick graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1956 and earned his degree in aeronautical engineering from Penn State University in 1960.

His professional career included employment at Piper Aircraft, Grumman Corporation, Cessna Aircraft, as well as a consultant for various aircraft companies.

Dick was actively involved with Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, serving on various committees for much of his life. He was also a proud member of the NRA, the PSU Alumni Association, and the Union County Sportsmen's Club.

His hobbies included hand-loading munition shells, flying twin piston aircraft, operating radio-controlled planes, watching Penn State football, and spending time with his beloved family and his rambunctious schnoodle, Missy.


In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by one son, Richard Wible of Milton; and one granddaughter, Reagan Wible.


The family will be receiving visitors at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport, with funeral services beginning at noon.

Burial will take place in private at Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.
