Middleburg - Frona Grace Rothermel, 93, of Middleburg, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.

Born on July 21, 1933, in McClure, she was a daughter of the late William and Florence (Sanders) Kratzer. On Jan. 2, 1952, she married Mark S. Rothermel who preceded her in death in 2005.

Frona was a graduate of Beaver Vocational High School.

Frona was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her home and family. She also spent time helping Josephine Oldt with cleaning.

She attended Beavertown Gods Missionary Church, Middleburg.

She loved quilting, baking, and was especially known for her delicious whoopie pies and homemade donuts. She found great fulfillment in babysitting and treasured the opportunity to care for children over the years. Frona also had a passion for gardening and took pride in canning the produce she grew.

Frona is survived by a son, Robert L. Rothermel of Middleburg; grandson Mike Rothermel and his companion Megan Worth of Mifflinburg; and a half-sister Susanne Miller of Columbus, Indiana.

In addition to her husband, Frona was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Thomas-Kuhns, and a granddaughter, Jody Rothermel.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Beavertown Gods Missionary Church,1653 Creek Road, Middleburg with a funeral service to begin at 11 a.m. with the church ministry officiating.

Burial will follow in Beavertown Gods Missionary Church Cemetery.
