Frank Petrullo Gallo Obituary

St. Petersburg, FL - Frank Petrullo Gallo passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2026 in St. Petersburg, FL, after a brief illness. He was 96. Frank was born March 25th, 1930, in Northumberland, PA. One of six children born to Pasquale Gallo and Rose Petrullo Gallo, Frank grew up in the family home in "Norry". After graduation from Northumberland High School, Frank married his high school sweetheart, Daris Snyder Gallo. Subsequently, he enlisted in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, serving as a Radio Frequency Transmission Systems Specialist at Scott AFB, where his first son, Frank P Gallo II was born. After his years of service, he attended Bucknell University, studying Business Administration and Finance.

Frank joined L'Aiglon Apparel, a manufacturer of ladies' garments, in Northumberland, where Frank and Daris welcomed their second son, Steven A. Gallo. Through their marriage, Frank and Daris enjoyed family life together, being members of numerous social clubs and taking regular vacations to the Poconos and the New Jersey seashore. Frank worked with L'Aiglon for 20 years, in Northumberland and in Philadelphia, then becoming the youngest manager in their 60-year history, overseeing 250 employees at a factory in Shippensburg, PA, where they moved in 1962. In 1969, Frank and Daris's marriage ended, and she moved to St. Petersburg, FL.

In 1975, Frank married Paulette Ott Zeger, forming a blended family with her 3 children, Glenda, Brenda and Mark Ott along with Steve. Through their time together, Frank and Paulette enjoyed weekends dancing and socializing to live music. Also in 1975, L'Aiglon ceased operations after 77 years, and Frank's entrepreneurial spirit led him to seize the opportunity to form his own apparel company, Monarch Manufacturing in Shippensburg. Monarch thrived until 1980. In 1982, Frank and Paulette moved to Chambersburg, PA, where he became the regional director for United Penn, overseeing apparel manufacturing facilities in York, Duncannon and Newport, PA. After living briefly in York and Naples, FL, in 1992 Frank became a sales consultant for Shively Motors in Chambersburg, receiving numerous gold certification awards for outstanding automotive sales achievements. After 25 years, Frank and Paulette's marriage ended, but they remained lifelong friends.

In 2002, Frank retired and moved back to his hometown of Northumberland, rekindling a relationship with Sally Wolever, a best friend from High School. In 2004, Frank and Sally built a home on land in Northumberland that belonged to his grandfather, in order to be next door & care for his 3 maiden aunts until their deaths, when the Petrullo family home was sold. Frank and Sally enjoyed a tranquil and loving life. They especially enjoyed a weekly breakfast club with old friends from High School. Sadly, Sally passed away after they had almost 20 years together.

In 2023, Frank moved to St. Petersburg, Fl to live with his son Steve and his partner Jim Milne. Frank enjoyed the last two years at Arbor Oaks, a senior living facility in St. Petersburg. Highlights of this time were regular trips with Steve and Jim for lunch in Venice, FL to see Paulette and her daughter Brenda Werner, her husband Drew, and niece Lisa Roberts and husband Allen. These lunches left treasured memories for all.

Frank was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need. He was a devout, lifelong Catholic. In his youth, he helped build the Catholic church building in Northumberland. In his later years, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He was also avid football fan (go Penn State & Philadelphia Eagles). He played football in high school, and never lost his enjoyment of the sport. Frank was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Moose Lodge.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Pasquale and Rose (Petrullo) Gallo; his son, Frank P. Gallo II; sisters Pauline (Gallo) Snyder, Mary (Gallo) Sees and Dr. Rose A.
