Frances Simko Obituary
Milton, Pennsylvania - Frances S. Simko, 83, of Milton, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
Born in Milton on June 10, 1942, she was the daughter of the late John Y. and Clara (Miles) Schreyer. She was married to Timothy Simko. Together, they celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Fran was a 1960 graduate of Milton High School and a 1964 graduate of Catawba College. She was a beloved elementary teacher at Kelly and Linntown Elementary schools in Lewisburg.
Fran was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Milton and was very active in civic and social endeavors, including the Milton Garden Club, the Milton Public Library, the YMCA, the Milton Historical Society, local sporting events and volunteered with Meals on Wheels, among many other activities. One would often find Fran helping the community as she was a true daughter of Milton.
Fran cared deeply for her family, friends, animals, and those in need of a helping hand. She was a truly generous person in both time and action.
In addition to her husband Tim, she is survived by a sister, Mary (Dave) Beegle; sister-in-law Nancy (Zechman) Schreyer; Myren Kofoed of Copenhagen, Denmark; nieces, nephews, and their children. A special thank you for all who have helped Franny during her time of illness.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Y. Schreyer, and cousin Ann (Mervine) Engelhardt.
Friends and relatives will be received on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. A memorial service will begin at 11 with Rev. Dr. Stephen G.
