Florence Marie (Cline) Edwards, 92, a longtime resident of Woolrich, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2020, at home in Milton surrounded by her devoted and loving family.

She was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Charlton, a daughter of the late Alfred and Lena Grace (Geiger) Cline. On Aug. 9, 1947, she married Melvin "Pete" Edwards who preceded her in death in 2019. They celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Florence graduated in 1946 from Lock Haven High School.

She was employed at the Smart Shop in Lock Haven, Woolrich Company Store, and Woolrich Woolen Mill where she met her husband.

Florence was a member and very active with the Garman Lutheran Church, the Bridge Club in Williamsport, and an excellent quilter, making over 300 beautiful quilts in her lifetime. In her younger years she was an avid tennis player with the ladies in Woolrich.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Jody) Edwards of Milton, and Jeffrey (Robin) Edwards of Maryland; grandson, Daniel (Hope) Edwards of Milton; granddaughter, Christina (Nicholas ) Fellander of Washington; two great-grandsons, Dylan Edwards of Milton and Dominic (Lexi) Mahoney of Washington.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Charles and Richard; and one sister, Dora Mae Schlesinger.

A special thank you to her home caregiver, Lucetta John from At Home Quality Care, nurses from Susquehanna Hospice Care, and Pastor Tom Brokaw and Pastor Gary Schumway.

Private graveside service will be held at the Woolrich Cemetery with a memorial service at the convenience of the family.
