Lewisburg, PA - Evelyn Frances Aikey, 93, of Lewisburg, passed away June 5, 2025, at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Evelyn was born on April 10, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Milton Seligman and Catherine (Bowen) Lane. On July 8, 1951, she married her beloved husband, George Aikey, with whom she shared almost 50 years of marriage before his passing on January 16, 2001.
After graduating high school, Evelyn started work as a beautician in Maryland, before moving to Pennsylvania with her husband and pursuing a career as a pharmaceutical assistant for CVS. She served them for more than 35 years. Evelyn loved her work, especially her customers and friends at CVS, but what she loved most was spending time with her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved the ocean and to be present at the water's edge.
Evelyn is survived by a son, Wilbur E. Aikey and wife, Sandy, of Quakertown; stepson, Roger L. Aikey, of Weikert; daughter, Cindy Murray and companion, Barry Geiswite, of Lewisburg; sister, Myrtle "Mert" Boettcher, of Reading; grandchildren, Sgt. Murray, Jason, Justin Aikey and his companion, Sonja, Sgt. Aikey, Brian and his wife, Michelle; and great-grandchildren, Cpl. Murray, Aiden and his wife, Summer, Landon Murray, Marisa Aikey, Morgan Brown and her husband, Jakota, Makala and Ian.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Wilbur H. Lane, grandson, Casey Murray, sister, Jennie Waltson, and brother, Bud Seligman.
The family is planning a graveside service to be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
