Muncy, Pennsylvania - Estherbelle McCoy Valiquette, 92, of Muncy, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at Watsontown Health & Rehab Center.

Born Jan. 24, 1931, in Muncy, she was a daughter of John St. and Estella (Swartz) McCoy. She graduated from Hughesville High School in 1948. She and her late husband, Harry G. Valiquette Sr. shared a wonderful life together, having been married on June 17, 1950.

Estherbelle was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, weaving chairs, doing yard work, playing bingo, going to church, visiting the Senior Center, and helping in the kitchen at Pennsdale Fire Company on bingo days. She was a very sociable person and would visit with people at the Friends Church in Hughesville. She was previously employed as a floor lady and supervisor at the Shoe Factory in Milton.

She is survived by four children, Douglas Valiquette of Muncy, Harry Jr. (Norma) Valiquette of Watsontown, Sharon (Mark) Byers of Montgomery, and Holly (Dale) Fry of Muncy; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ken (Linda) McCoy, of Montgomery and Jack (Diane) McCoy, of Elimsport; three sisters, Ruth (Ernie) Rishel of Pennsdale, Mary (Fred) Barto, and Joanne Snyder, both of Hughesville, and numerous nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents and husband, Estherbelle was preceded in death her daughter, Shawnee Valiquette-Hauck; her son, Timothy Valiquette; her grandson, Michael Baker, her great-grandson, Timothy Dickinson; and three siblings, Paul McCoy, Dorothy McCoy, and William McCoy.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home — Hughesville, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dan Cale officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.
