Esther May Walborn, 87, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Camp Hill, passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, into the arms of her Lord after having complications from dementia.

Born Nov. 25, 1935, in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Ross E. Wimer and Helen (Brumbaugh) Wimer.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Warren H. Walborn; her infant son, Mark Steven Walborn; and her sisters, Joan Bordner and Rita Reinard.

Surviving Esther are her children and their spouses, Dale and Diana Walborn of Summerdale, Kelly and Jay Blackwell of Mechanicsburg, and Linda and Rod Bates of Landisburg; grandchildren Kristen (Chris) Arnold, Brendan Blackwell, Britney (Dylan) Bowersox, and Haley Blackwell; great-grandchildren, Charlie and Henry Arnold, Kiyana Blackwell and Oliver Bowersox. She is also survived by her sister, June Records, of Myrtle Beach, and her brother, Bill Wimer (Rose) of Shamokin Dam.

Esther graduated from Selinsgrove High School and the School of Nursing at the Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital.

She enjoyed sewing, making blankets for the Capital Area Pregnancy Center, reading, spending time with family and keeping in touch with friends and classmates. She was a founding member of the West Shore Free Church in Mechanicsburg and was active with the church's Berean Class.

The family would like to thank all of the compassionate caregivers at Country Meadows and Lifesong Hospice.

A visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 23, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St., Camp Hill, PA, 17011. A funeral service will begin at 11.

Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill.
