Dalmatia, Pennsylvania - Elwood C. Shaffer, 94, of Dalmatia, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2024.

He was born June 21, 1930, in Hickory Corners, a son of the late Katie and Alvin Shaffer.

Elwood retired as a carpenter for J.H. Rissinger and Sons. He served in the Army during the Korean war.

He was a member of Zion Stone Valley Church, Dalmatia, where he served nines years as an Elder at the church and was church Elder Emeritus, he served as Deacon for 16 years, general superintendent of Sunday School and the Sunday School Secretary.

Elwood is survived by his daughter, Neva (Charles Jr.) Cichy; grandson, Ryan (Melanie) Cichy; and sister, Barbara Romberger.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Benjamin and John Shaffer.

A viewing will be held Friday, Dec. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Zion Stone Valley Church, Dalmatia, followed by the funeral service at 11.

Interment will take place in the Stone Valley Cemetery, Dalmatia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Zion Stone Valley Church.
