LEWISBURG - Ella M. "Aunt Ella" Wise went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at RiverWoods Nursing Home, Lewisburg, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Plymouth, the daughter of the late Walter F. and Lottie (Lauver) Clark. She was married to Donald I. Wise Sr. on March 10, 1946, and they shared 44 years together before Donald passed in 1991. Ellla was a 1941 graduate of Sunbury High School. She was employed by J.J. Newberry and Nite Kraft in Sunbury, and the Lewisburg Chair factory and retired from Chef Boyardee in Milton after 25 years of employment. In her early years, Ella spent her time going to square dances and roller skating, where she ended up meeting her future husband. Ella and her husband enjoyed their retirement years traveling the country attending World War II reunions with fellow veterans he served with. Her greatest joys in life were the times she spent with family and friends at the countless gatherings throughout the years. For holidays, she would always make fresh pumpkin pie and angel food cake, which everyone looked forward to. She lived her life serving the Lord, reading her Bible and praying for everyone she knew. Those who knew her viewed her as a shining example of a true Christian. Our fondest memories are those of the abundance of love that she had for all of God's creations and the hugs she shared with everyone. She would often say put your worries in God's box. She never got mad and was never heard speaking a bad word about anyone. Ella was an avid member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Lewisburg for 68 years. She's survived by a very special sister in-law, Nancy Good and her husband, Roy. Ella enjoyed all the times spent with them and their family, especially those at the campsite along Penns Creek. She's also survived by her children, Donald I. Wise Jr., of Lewisburg, and Esther Bly and husband, Terry Bly, of Montandon. Ella loved to talk about her grandchildren as they were her pride and joy. They have always felt fortunate to have such a great figure to look up to. Her warm embraces, genuine enthusiasm and wisdom will truly be missed by Anthony Bly, Terry Bly Jr. and his wife, Mary, Andrew Bly and his partner, Joshua Sacavage, Miriam Martin and her husband, Kyle, Daniel Wise, Nathaniel Wise and his wife, Priscilla, and Gaberial Wise. Ella was blessed with many great-grandchildren whom she'd been fortunate enough to meet. They appreciated that no matter what was happening in her life she always remembered birthdays and special occasions. Her loving smiles that always cheered them up will be missed by Jason, Nicolas, Maia, Scotty, Madestyn and Terry III. Ella valued the close relationship she shared with her nieces and nephews whom she embraced and loved dearly. She was always there with a smile on her face to lend an ear. She had a great impact on the their lives and will truly be missed by Joy Witmer, Danny Clark, Ruth Butler, Jonathan Clark, Dorie Seasholtz, Cathy Pancher, Cale Clark, Lottie Kerstetter, David Clark, Tammy Gelnett, Tim Clark, Nancy Wallace, Barb Shipman, Judy Dyer and all of their families. She was preceded in death by two brothers, William Clark and Caleb Clark Sr. The family would like to thank the staff of RiverWoods Nursing Home, especially all of her loving and dedicated caretakers on A-wing. She cherished her time there and loved all of you like family. Friends and family will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1050 Buffalo Road, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 11. Burial will be held after the service in the Lewisburg Cemetery.
