She was born March 14, 1924, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Malloy) Shalongo.
Betty was a 1942 graduate of Coal Township High School and was an avid alumnus who attended every class reunion until health problems prevented her attendance.
She spent her early life on Pine Street in Shamokin's West side. In 1967, she married John Sebasovich Sr. and resided on Sun Valley Drive, just outside Sunbury, for 43 years.
Betty was employed at several stores in Shamokin in her teens and later worked at Shroyers Dress factory. She also worked at Champ Hats and Grand Way in Sunbury, but found her niche at Rea & Derrick in Sunbury, where she worked until she was well into her 70s, retiring only to take care of her husband.
She was an active member of St. Monica's Catholic Church, Sunbury. She continued living life to the fullest, until illness slowly stole it away.
Betty is survived by one son, Gregory Cronomiz and his fiance Sharon Keihl, of Danville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Peter Wentz and Carey and Dean Snyder, all of Wilmington, N.C.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly and Ben Soltis, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Kimberly and Jon Cullen, of Philadelphia, Nic Snyder, Allix Snyder, Peter J. and Alyx Wentz, all of North Carolina; two great-grandchildren, Avery Cullen, of Philadelphia and Victor Soltis, of Ohio; five stepchildren and their spouses, John Jr. and Irene Sebasovich, and Joan and Henry Eyer, all of Danville, Carl and Wendy Sebasovich, and Joyce Church, all of Sunbury, and Kathy and Mike Kopich, of Milton; many stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Jean Kolovich, of Danville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Sebasovich Sr., in 2005, and one brother and sister that died in infancy.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and Betty will be laid to rest beside her husband, Harry, in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Danville.
The family wish is that in lieu of flowers, a donation be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Roat-Kriner Funeral Home, 1715 Boom Road, Danville.
