Eleanor J. "Ellie"

NORTHUMBERLAND - Eleanor J. "Ellie" (Slear) Foulds, 65, of Queen Street, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was born April 16, 1950, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late John M. and Alberta M. (Yoder) Slear. On Oct. 8, 1994, she married Robert J. Foulds, who survives. Ellie was a 1968 graduate of Shikellamy High School and later received her nursing degree from the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing. Ellie was a CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) for Geisinger Medical Center for 40 years until disability forced her retirement. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland, where she was a member of the knitting club and knitted for the Guidepost project, Knit for Kids. She was a member of the Infusion Nurses Society. Ellie was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, traveling and, most of all, shopping. However, Ellie's greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. In addition to her husband of 20 years, she is survived by her stepdaughter and son-in-law, Heather L. and Vincent P. DiMatteo, of Eddystone; grandson, Nicolo A. DiMatteo; brother and sister-in-law, Robert C. and Carol A. Slear, of Selinsgrove; sister, Shirley J. Swank, of McAlisterville; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Herbert L. Swank. Friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Sixth St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Cynthia Gunter officiating.
