Elda Diehl Bowen
Elda Diehl Bowen, 93, Carousel Drive, Selinsgrove, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at home with her daughters by her side.
She was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Harry and Catherine (Rearick) Herman.

Elda was a 1947 graduate of Sunbury High School. She later modeled for Barbizon, and taught at the Arthur Miller Dance Studio. Elda was employed as merchant store trainer for Sears Corporation in the Northeast Division.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland. As an avid gardener for many years, Elda was a member of the Susquehanna Valley Garden Club.
Elda enjoyed reading, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Kathy L. and Steven W. Stowers of Spanish Fort, Ala., Carol E. and Craig I. Cronin of Silver Spring, Md., Ellen S. Diehl of Selinsgrove, and Edie L. and Greg S. Moyer of Northumberland; nine grandchildren, Deborah, Carol, George, Rachel, David, Matthew, Patrick, Amber and Andrew; 10 great-grandchihldren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Dr. George T. Herman of Silver Spring, Md.

She was preceded in death by one son, Myron H. Diehl Jr.; one brother, Harry M. Herman Jr.; and one sister, Ethel L. Swoyer.

A private graveside service will be held in Pomfret Manor Cemetery.

I had the honor of caring for Elda for a brief amount of time .she was so sweet never ever complained and she always had a smile I will never forget her smile . Prayers to you all may God comfort you all.

Dear Pat,
Sorrowful condolences for the loss of your beautiful grandmother. She had so many talents and so many in her long wonderful life. And she had you. God bless your family. It’s hard to lose someone who has been in our lives for such a long time. I am sure she will be by your side as you journey through life !
