Lewisburg, PA - Eileen P. Prowant, 81, of Lewisburg, died on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.


Born November 28, 1944, in Red Lion, she was a daughter of the late Leon A. Sr. and Edna P. (Anderson) McCleary. On January 21, 1967, she married Rev. Edward E. Prowant, who survives. Together they celebrated 59 years of marriage.


Eileen was a graduate of Big Spring Area school district and earned her bachelor's in education from Shippensburg University. She worked at various school districts as a substitute teacher and spent more than 70 years serving as a musician at various churches.


Eileen was a current member of the UCC community, attending St. Paul's @ The Farm, Lewisburg.


Beyond her passion for music, she enjoyed reading and doing many types of handcrafts.


Surviving in addition to her husband are one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Janice Prowant, of Shippensburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Jane McCleary, of Mifflinburg; and two grandsons, Calvin and Dexter Prowant.


In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Leon A. McCleary Jr.


A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at St. Paul's @ The Farm, 50 Brookpark Cir, Lewisburg, with Pastor Timothy Hogan-Palazzo, officiating.


The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions in Eileen's memory be made to St. Paul's @ The Farm.
