Edward Markowski Obituary
Ranshaw, Pennsylvania - Edward J. Markowski, 74, of Ranshaw, passed away at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community on March 22.
He was born in Shamokin, a son of the late Edward L. "Hoople" Markowski and Violet Rose (Narusiewicz, Narc) Markowski, on Nov. 7, 1951.
He was a graduate of Shamokin High School Class of 1969.
He was first married to Linda Laczkowski and later Sherry Benner. Both survive.
He was employed as a supervisor for both Conrail and Norfolk Southern Railroad for 32 years.
He was a member of the former St. Anthony Church, Ranshaw. He was an avid golfer, having been the club champion at Three Ponds and held two Hole in One plaques. He was a life member of the Brady Fire Company and really enjoyed going for walks around Brady and Sunbury.
He is survived by his wife Sherry; his children, Edward Joseph Markowski, of Coal Township, and Kevin Markowski, of Elysburg; step-daughter Kris Ploch, of South Carolina; step-son Chad Benner, of Coal Township; and eight grandchildren, Blake, McKenna and Kevin Markowski, Megan and Hannah Ploch and Kasen, Colt and Madden Benner.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home, Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. Service will begin at noon with Deacon Walt Kozlowski officiating. Burial will be private for the immediate family in Northumberland Memorial Park Cemetery, Stonington.
