Edith C. Barger Obituary

Milton, PA - Edith C. Barger, 89, of Milton, died Friday, April 25, 2025 at her home.


Born January 28, 1936, in Lewisburg, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Emily (Mabus) Coup.


After graduating from Lewisburg High School in 1959, she became a dedicated homemaker to her family. After her children were grown, she went on to work at Weis Bakery for over 10 years.


Edith was an avid reader and traveler and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved to garden and especially loved her petunias. Edith was also a devoted volunteer with the Special Olympics in Northumberland and Union Counties for many years.


Surviving are her children, Tracy Barger and his wife, Nancy, of FL, Glenda Artley and her husband, Robert, of Milton, Ruth Leeds and her husband, Stan, of OH, and Holly McKelvey and her husband, Michael, of VA; one brother, Lee Coup, Jr. and his wife, Mavis, of VA, one sister, Sylvia Snyder, of Milton; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Timothy Barger, daughter, Sharon Gagnon, granddaughter, Cynthia, grandson, William, great-great-grandson, Kyle, four brothers, Homer, John, Jim, and Butch Coup and two sisters, Mary Buckles and Darla Dunkle.


Friends and family will be received from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg.


A private burial will be held at a later date in Turbotville Cemetery.
